Mahindra sells 40,631 SUVs in March– XUV700, Scorpio N, and Thar drive sales
Mahindra has indeed been performing well in recent years, with significant launches post-pandemic. The Thar, XUV700, and Scorpio N have all been tremendously successful in the Indian market. Based in Chakan, the automaker sold a total of 68,413 vehicles in March this year, including passenger vehicles (PVs), commercial vehicles (CVs), and tractors.
These figures encompass both domestic sales and exports, resulting in an overall year-on-year (YoY) growth of 4%. Specifically focusing on the passenger vehicle segment, Mahindra sold 40,631 utility vehicles (UVs) in March 2024 in the domestic market, representing a YoY growth of 13%. In comparison, during the same period last year, Mahindra sold 35,997 PVs.
It’s worth noting that Mahindra exclusively retails UVs in the passenger vehicle space. Overall, Mahindra dispatched 41,161 UVs in March this year, encompassing both domestic sales and exports.
According to Veejay Nakra, President, Automotive Division, M&M Ltd., “We ended the financial year F24 on a positive note with Mahindra PikUps crossing 2 lakh units during the year, which is the highest ever for any commercial vehicle in the load segment in India. In March, we sold a total of 40,631 SUVs, with a growth of 13%, and 68,413 total vehicles, a 4% growth over last year.”

Upcoming Mahindra launches
Earlier this year, Mahindra introduced the updated XUV400 electric SUV with more features and specs. Mahindra’s next big launch will be the XUV300 facelift expected to take place in April 2024. The upcoming iteration of the subcompact SUV will get a refreshed styling and some more features on board.
